Don't Be Afraid to Get Your Hands Dirty
Often times when people ask me for my opinion on something, I find that what they really want is for me to tell them about some magical shortcut that’s somehow supposed to make all the immediate problems they have in life go away. Here’s a shortcut for anyone looking to call me looking for a shortcut. Save your time, there is no damn shortcut.
Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty. Business is hard. It is about efficiencies, yes. It is about economies of scale, yes. You often cannot grow your business unless you are scalable which means you need your efficiencies and economies of scale in place. But, guess what? These things take time. And, more often than not, money. It’s why you often see so few businesses scale up and unfortunately see really good businesses fall to the side. People aren’t willing to do what it takes.
There is no golden ticket hidden in a candy bar somewhere. There is no shortcut that will allow a business or person to level up overnight. There is no magic bean stalk and there is absolutely no room for laziness. You know why? Because someone else is working while you’re resting. Someone is trying to figure out how to beat you so they can get theirs. Just so you know, the only defense against this is more work. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just reality.
Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty. Business takes work. So does success. Are you ready?
